This timeless trowel can be used for everything. I built this trowel to be simple and sturdy, reminiscent of what you might find in your grandparents garden or farm shed. The wide blade holds a lot of soil and the pointed shape allows you to use it in the field as well. The subtle patina and refined hardwood handle give it a modern flair. I forge the blade from high carbon steel and turn the handle from American Black Walnut. Dimensions are approx. 12″ long by 4″ wide.

I build each tool individually using traditional blacksmithing techniques. Steel is heated to a red glow in the forge and then shaped over the anvil with a hammer. All joinery is done using solid steel rivets. And, each tool is set into its own hand turned handle creating a long-lasting garden tool with no welds. American Black Walnut is used for handles. The tight grain of this strong hardwood makes it very durable. Best of all, it just feels good in your hand.
